Well. I don’t understand where to go with this since I’m truly happy as well as truly confused at the exact same time.
I thought about myself a 4 hour marathoner up until today. So, every pr that I’ve gotten this year has been a authentic surprise to me more than anyone else.
(Today’s race is not a PR, I ran quicker at the OC Marathon in may which was 3:36:23.)
Now I’m doubting whatever in the world. But, we’ll chat about that later.
Let me recap the race in my usual peanut shell style.
Pre-race – I stayed up method as well late trying to figure out exactly how to switch my ipod playlist. I’m obviously extremely smart.
4:30am wake-up phone call since the race started at 6am. I stayed a mile from the begin so it was extremely simple to get there.

Santa Rosa Marathon Course: It started near the Santa Rosa path path as well as from there went out toward the vineyards. The sunrise over the vineyards was gorgeous. I didn’t take my phone or I would have stopped to take pictures.
The path bike path was okay. You had to go under a few streets so this added some little hills early as well as late in the race.
My race results:
I always state I just have to wait as well as see if I’m having a great day before I set a goal for any type of race (not a ‘real’ goal, however a goal pace/time aim) since I don’t understand exactly how I’m going to feel. Today I didn’t feel like I was having a great day in particular, however I wished to try as well as push it so I might see where I am before I get into my autumn marathons (I have three races back to back).
I started out on goal speed as well as stayed about 10 seconds within GP up until about mile 18. I had a poor mile however brought it back for about 3 miles.
Then, at Mile 22 I lost it as well as couldn’t get it back. I stopped looking at my watch since it was just discouraging. I started to run on effort instead of speed as a tool as well as it assisted me keep going.
I likewise felt nauseous for a while as well as that scared me. I requirement to get much better about being able to tell the difference between discomfort as well as looming death.
Ben came to the race as well as we had a little mix-up with our plans. He was going to refill my water, however couldn’t so I ran with a plastic water bottle that started to modify my shoulder a bit. however I’m so glad I had it since I was extremely thirsty the Camiseta Atalanta BC whole race!
Thank you to visitor Sonia who saw me two times on the program as well as applauded for me. I truly needed that!

Santa Rosa Marathon Race Review:
Great race! It was well organized. Expo was at a winery. had sufficient porta-potties at the start. started right on time. decent weather condition (got a bit hot toward the end). relatively flat program (NOT pancake flat like their reputation is though). There are rolling hills around mile 10 Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Dinamarca as well as a few up as well as overs on the bike path out as well as back (so you hit them in the high 20s).
Plus, they have watermelon at the end!!!
Bonus: You get a jacket as well as a bottle of wine as swag! I like that! I have so many race tees this is awesome!
And then you get to celebrate or drown your sorrows with a whole bottle of wine! (Sadly, I had to provide my bottle to somebody at the flight terminal since I wasn’t inspecting a bag.)
And this is the biggest race medal I have ever received!
Now I am headed house to gather my thoughts as well as eat a great deal of pizza as well as fro-yo. See you there!
